Was that you?---Yep. That was a bit of a - what's the word
for it? I can't think of the word for it but what happened
was - previously we just used to throw the MR1s in the bin.
We were told there was no need to keep them. So we used to
throw them in the bin, and then we just used to keep the
MRs for the vehicles that were licensed and then, to make
our job even harder, we had to write out an MR1 for a work
order which was already licensed. All the vehicle details
are there. All we were doing was checking the numbers and
then we had to fill out this form in - you know, completely
fill out the form and, yeah, it just made more work for us
when we were already under the pump.
Have you passed any other vehicles that had yellow stickers
for Abe Roufail?---Not that I recall.
Did Abe give you any money - - -?---No.
- - - for doing that job?---No.
For any jobs?---No.
Did you ever get anything out of him?---He used to bring in
some Lebanese bread and throw it on the counter and we'd
all get some - take some Lebanese bread home at the end of
the day or occasionally - I don't know if Abe did but might
bring a carton of beer in or something but no, nothing
else.
Did you ever pass vehicles without inspecting them for
anyone else?---Not that I know of.
So why did you provide these favours to Abe Roufail?
---Basically, like I said, we sort of had a bit of a
rapport over all the years and just - you know, you just
get to help out some people more than others.
