Quality education is important to the residents <strong>of</strong> Severna Park, and many will tell you that one reason<br />

the County’s highest rated public schools, as well as very highly regarded independent and parochial<br />

Severna Park High School, which currently enrolls 1921<br />
students in grade 9-12, has been recognized in Maryland and nationally<br />
for excellence in academics and athletics, as well as being<br />
known for its Falcon Band and Orchestra and it perennial favorite<br />
musical production—Rock ‘n Roll Revival. SPHS was built in 1959,<br />
with renovations in 1973 and 1982. The school has been recognized<br />
as a Maryland Blue Ribbon School, as well as a national<br />
Blue Ribbon School. This program recognizes schools for making<br />
