However,as the volume of document increases,the ‘Push’ model suffers from diminishingdata quality, which could bedue to the low personalizability inthe communication subject. Pushinga large volume of pre-defined standarddocuments among the tradersusually results in data redundancy.In addition, low personalizability incommunication channel also incurs ahigher cost and longer time in developingand deploying the infrastructure.In this research, we explored the‘Pull-only’ model and the ‘Push andPull’ model to increase the personalizabilityand thereby promote a morepervasive use of the B2B integrationstandards.‘PULL-ONLY’ MODELThe ‘Pull-only’ model is a style of communicationin which the receiver initiatesthe data request to be respondedby the sender accordingly. The processthat involves the sender is automatedby the Web services. Afterthe receiver has initiated the informationrequest, the stored authenticationinformation will be sent by theWeb services to the sender’s serverfor authentication, and connecting theWeb services to the sender’s databaseview. Once it has been authenticated,the sender’s database view will allowthe receiver to ‘pull’ data through theWeb services. The raw data will betransformed into a XML format messagebased on the predefined standardschema. Once the XML messageis validated, it can be transformedback into raw data and inserted intothe receiver’s database automatically.The purpose of the transformationof raw data into XML message is toensure that the message conforms tothe standard schema. This will easethe data insertion process.‘PUSH AND PULL’ MODELA ‘Push and Pull’ model is a style ofcommunication in which the senderpushes the data to the receiver butthe amount of data received is filteredby a standard schema pre-defined bythe receiver (pull). The receiver controlswhat to receive through the filterwhich does not require the receiver tomanually select what to be inserted27
