All the raw data willbe transformed into the XML formatto ease the data transformation process.The XML format message willbe stored in the InfoX server whichis sharable throughout the networkthrough a grid middleware. The gridmiddleware controls and manages theretrieval of the database. The managementis transparent to the users.The end users only need to query thedesired information through the middleware.The grid services will subsequentlyretrieve the data from variousdatabases based on a data catalog.The distribution of data at variousdatabases is carried out by the gridservices.By deploying the InfoX system ina grid environment, it is able to send45 records per second on an average.However, it was observed that some340 records per second on an averagecould be achieved in a non-gridenvironment.In order to deploy Infox in a gridenvironment through a grid middleware,both the InfoX and the middlewaremust be located in a grid MyRENnetwork. Due to the incompatibilityof InfoX in the MyREN network,it takes a much longer time to processthe data and eventually affectsthe response time.We have also implemented a selfserviceevaluation system for the potentialeducational institutions to estimatethe possible time required forthe development and deployment ofan industry-wide standardised architecture.WHAT’S NEXT?As part of the future work, InfoXand the grid middleware have to beenhanced from various perspectives.First of all, the InfoX system musthave the ability to compress the databefore sending to the grid middlewarefor further processing. It ishoped that the response time especiallywhen sending large files willeventually be enhanced.
