Industrial Crane Bumper Shocks ECB-63 to 160Enertrols ECB Series Heavy Industrial Shock Absorbers aredesigned for emergency deceleration and improved performance of largeindustrial equipment. During normal operation at low velocity, the shockabsorbers provide minimal pneumatic resistance. In an emergency or highvelocity condition, the shock absorbers respond hydraulically to protectthe installation from damaging reaction forces by providing controlleddeceleration.Enertrols Crane and Heavy Industrial Shock Absorbers are self-containeddevices which utilize multiple orifices to provide controlled linear decelerationwhile minimizing reaction forces. In the ready and normal position, the pistonrod is extended. When the impact load strikes the shock absorber, hydraulicfluid is displaced by a piston through the orifices in the metering tube. As theshock absorber continues through the stroke, the orifices are progressivelyclosed and the velocity is reduced while the kinetic energy is convertedto thermal energy. As a result, the load is brought to rest without the highrecoil forces and low efficiencies associated with helical springs and rubberbumpers. The displaced oil passes into a gas pressurized piston accumulatorlocated within the piston rod.
