Florida NewsPeru Mission Project Results In 1,021 BaptismsDuring week-longevangelistic meetings heldat 30 sites in Arequipa,Peru, 1,021 new believerswere baptized.Seventy lay leadersand pastors from Floridaconducted the campaignsalong with Conferenceadministrators Mike Cauley,president; Carmen Rodriguez,executive secretary;Ken Burrill, vice presidentfor administration and ministerial;and Abel Paulín,vice president for Spanishlanguageministries andevangelism coordinator.Free daily medical clinicstreated more than 600patients under the directionof Julius Garner, M.D., andchildren’s ministries workshopswere conducted byRhoda Burrill, children’sministries director. In additionto providing theseservices, the underlyingThe 2007 camp meetingseason witnessed theintroduction of new servicesfor its Haitian constituentsin their native Creolelanguage. Six hundred andfifty people attended themeetings held at BethelL’Eglise Haitenne Des Adventistesin Orlando.Conference pastors coordinatedthe services andprovided the preaching forthe Friday night and Sabbathservices. Prayer and praise highlighted thepowerful Spirit-filled weekend where the capacity crowd promptedevent planners to talk of a larger gathering site in 2008.service began with a youthconcert.
