Year 12 Leisure StudiesThe Year 12 AS Leisure Studies group visited Crealy Great Adventure Park on Wednesday 10 October. We enjoyed our visitand certainly learned lots about how the Adventure Park works and keeps the customers happy. From a consumer point of view Crealy ticks all the boxes for a fun and safe day out.It is a child friendly environment with its range of rides and helpful ‘ranger’ staff. For the thrill-seekers there is the Wild andWet Log Flume; for the young ones there are ball pits and a petting zoo.For a more tranquil environment adults can lose themselves in the River Walk or by the lake. There are numerous places to enjoy a bite to eat, specifically in the indoor areas. Parents can relax with a cup of coffee, keeping an eye on their children whizzing down the Red Devil.Rules and regulations, such as washing hands after petting animals, are carried out to ensure minimum risk.Ella Wittridge and Fran HallWhat makes a good interview? On Friday the 19th of October, Year thirteen were treated to a lesson into what makes a good job interview. Flight LieutenantStuart Hamon had been a guest speaker in a sixth form core lesson before, talking about careers in the military sector anddressing unsuspecting sixth former Ryan Shilston in a full flight suit. However this time, Flight Lieutenant Stuart Hamon gaveup his time to educate the upper sixth in job application and the process of interviews. The session was interactive and wasaimed at providing the Year thirteens with the skills they can use for future employment opportunities. From dress sense, tosimple application forms, the sixth formers learned a great deal from Flight Lieutenant Stuart Hamon. Students Jamie Prosserand Lucy Bailey were nominated to take the roles of a receptionist and a job candidate during the session. It helped highlightthe points of formality and etiquette to all stages of the job interview. Year thirteen took a great deal of knowledge from theircore lesson on that Friday and would like to thank Flight Lieutenant Stuart Hamon again for all his help, and giving up his owntime to talk to everyone.James Dunford
