We entered 3 teams and we were up against 4other teams from across Dorset. When we got there we were set practice questions to do in our teams. Thesewere then analysed altogether to see what strategies could be used for solvingthem. After thoroughly going through the mini-relay and cross-number rounds andpractising competition techniques, we had a break where coffee was provided.Due to the coffee, Alice Jenkin was very motivated and was fortunately placedin our team for the real competition. Once we were underway in the first roundeven Alice’s fidgeting couldn’t distract us from the brutal questions. Then wewere split up into 2 pairs within our group. More questions were fired at us, butour team, consisting of Alice Jenkin, Oscar Bailey, Tom Kiernan, Joe Blackledgeand I, previously considered to be the underdogs, came third overall. We beat theother two Woodroffe teams, including the favourites, much to Dr Kelly’s surprise! Now she has some major thinking to do, to decide who to put forward into the realChallenge competition next month in Taunton.Huge congratulations to Head of Year 7,Mr Brown and his family on the birth oftheir second child, Megan Brown.Megan was born on 02 October at ahealthy weight of 8lbs 8oz. The Brownswere a little surprised as they hadbelieved they were expecting a boy, therefore their original name choicessuddenly did not seem appropriate! After moving from London to startwork at Woodroffe in September, theBrowns found the Maternity ward at theDorchester Hospital to be lovely, warm, friendly and relaxed. In fact Mr Brownwas so relaxed he popped out of thematernity ward for a bite to eat whilstMrs B was in labour.Mr Brown said “Thank you to everyonefor all your kind wishes.
