(d)For the week ending 24 th August 2011 (2 nd Bhadrapada 1933 Saka)CHIEF FEATURES : The rainfall pattern and some features of synoptic flow pattern, thoughresembled a break like situation, parts of central India also received fairly widespread rainfall withisolated heavy falls on a couple of days each, due to the west northwestward movement of an upper aircyclonic circulation across central India during 18 -23 Aug.WEEK’S RAINFALL : Week’s rainfall was excess in Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Uttarakhand, MadhyaMaharashtra, Marathwada, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, north interior Karnataka and Lakshadweep andnormal in Nagaland-Manipur-Mizoram-Tripura, Bihar, Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir, Rajasthan, GujaratState, Konkan & Goa, Vidarbha and coastal & south interior Karnataka. It was normal over the rest of the country;outside Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland-Manipur-Mizoram-Tripura, Orissa and Haryana, where it wasdeficient.The southwest Monsoon was vigorous on 1 to 3 days in Haryana, Gujarat State, coastal AndhraPradesh, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu and north interior Karnataka and active on 4 to 6 days inUttarakhand, Marathwada and Telangana and on 1 to 2 days in Nagaland-Manipur-Mizoram-Tripura,Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar, east Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, east Rajasthan, west MadhyaPradesh, Gujarat Region, Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Chattisgarh, coastal AndhraPradesh, Rayalaseema, Karnataka and Kerala.
