In view of isolated heavy to veryheavy rainfall over Bihar and Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim during next 24 hours, farmers areadvised to arrange for adequate drainage to avoid water stagnation in the fields.‣ In Jharkhand, farmers are advised to complete transplanting of rice within a week through SRI method. Underpresent situation prepare nursery of medium duration rice varieties instead of long duration varieties inSouth Eastern Plateau Zone of Jharkhand. Undertake sowing of urd and improved & short duration varietiesof horse gram in upland in Central and North Eastern Plateau Zone of Jharkhand.‣ Farmers in Western Plateau Zone of Jharkhand are advised to continue sowing of kharif crops like rice,maize, groundnut, urd, arhar etc. utilizing monsoon rain. Prepare the land and undertake sowing totransplanting of kharif vegetables like bhindi, bean, tomato, French bean, cauliflower, cabbage etc.‣ In South Eastern Plateau Zone of Jharkhand, farmers are advised to undertake sowing of maize, arhar, greengram, black gram, groundnut. Also complete sowing of arhar as sole crop as well as intercrop with any ofthe crops like jowar, maize, groundnut, soybean, urd, moong bean and okra.‣ Undertake sowing of maize, arhar, vegetables like okra, bitter gourd, cluster bean, cow pea, ridge gourd,lady’s finger, brinjal, tomato and chillies and transplanting of rice in Orissa utilizing monsoon rain. Alsoundertake sowing of ragi and sesame as the weather is optimum for sowing of these crops.‣ Farmers in West Bengal are advised to undertake sowing of maize, early tomato and cauliflower,transplanting of aman rice and start cultivation of mushroom. Drain out excess water from already plantedginger and turmeric field in Terai Zone.‣ In New Alluvial Zone of West Bengal, if aman rice seeds are not yet sown, sow short duration varietiesutilizing the realized rainfall.‣ Farmers in Bihar are advised to undertake sowing of kharif maize, kharif fodder crops (jowar, Dinanathgrass and bajra), mishrikand, onion and transplanting of fruit trees.‣ Farmers in the districts of North West Alluvial Plain Zone of Bihar are advised to give top priority intransplanting of rice seedlings in low and medium land areas where water for transplanting is available inthe field.‣ Farmers in South Bihar Alluvial Zone are advised to undertake transplanting of vegetables crops like
