And these -- then these drives successfully4 register students to vote in the schools?5 A. Absolutely.6 Q. And in your view, these are people that would7 otherwise not register to vote?8 A. The students, I don't think they would register9 to vote. I think having the convenience of it right in10 their schools, for a full week, and have it be conducted11 by their peers, I think that is really important. And12 most of the schools, the principals, the teachers are13 involved, encouraging the students to get this done. I14 think the students -- the school that won, had the15 highest number of registered voters, was Stoneman16 Douglas; I believe that is 756 students that they17 registered. And that would be an 18-year-old,18 17-year-old or 16-year-old preregistered. So we are19 really proud of it. We submitted it as a best practice.20 So I'm not sure how it will go, but we are really proud21 of it.22 Q. When you say "submitted it as a best practice" to23 the Election Commission, to the Florida --24 A. We submitted it to the Election Center which is a25 national organization for elections professionals.49

Do you know which ones do?5 A. Well, all of them. All of them. They all go6 out. But it depends upon what we have got organized at7 that particular time. We have locations in the8 courthouses. Sometimes we will have what we call9 "hallway Thursdays." And whoever is in that branch10 office at that courthouse takes a table outside and11 encourages people to come register.12 Q. And the staff members in the Voter Education and13 Outreach Department, do they have other duties other than14 voter registration?15 A. That's all they have. It's -- voter education16 and outreach, that's what they do.17 Q. But the voter educations and outreach consists of18 more than just voter registration, does it?19 A. Just more -- Yeah, well, it's the whole process20 of registering to vote, participating in the election21 process. They recruit for poll workers as well.22 Q. And how many poll workers typically do they23 recruit a year, a federal election year?24 A. I can tell you how many we need. We need25 approximately 10,000. But they're not the only ones that52
