CHECK-OUT HUNGER KICK OFF<br />

November 5, 2009 — The <strong>Hawaii</strong> <strong>Foodbank</strong> kicked off its 16th annual<br />

Check-Out <strong>Hunger</strong> campaign with a $5,000 check presentation from Kraft<br />

Foods. Representatives from program partner stores joined in the kick off.<br />

HAWAII FOOD DRIVE<br />

November 18, 2009 — The General Contractors Association<br />

of <strong>Hawaii</strong> (GCAH) presented the <strong>Foodbank</strong> with 4,780<br />

pounds and $22,410 from its annual companywide food drive<br />

NORDIC PCL CONSTRUCTION CHECK PRESENTATION<br />

November 12, 2009 — Nordic PCL Construction and Aloha United<br />

Way presented a check representing $10,000 in employee<br />

designations to Dick Grimm, <strong>Hawaii</strong> <strong>Foodbank</strong> President (left).<br />

The donation was part of a national, companywide campaign with all<br />

Nordic PCL employees contributing to local food banks in their areas.<br />

HAWAII BUSINESS EQUIPMENT PLATE LUNCH FUNDRAISER &<br />

FOOD DRIVE<br />

November 2009 — <strong>Hawaii</strong> Business Equipment (affectionately known by its<br />

employees as “<strong>Hawaii</strong>'s Best Eatery<strong>”</strong>), organized a food drive and plate lunch<br />

fundraiser for the <strong>Foodbank</strong> as one of their Corporate Social Responsibility projects<br />

for 2009. “Kaizen Team Kokua<strong>”</strong> prepared 310 plates of spaghetti with garlic bread,<br />

teriyaki steak with macaroni salad and combination plates. The team successfully<br />

fundraised 1,551 pounds of food.<br />
