CHECK-OUT HUNGER KICK OFF
November 5, 2009 — The Hawaii Foodbank kicked off its 16th annual
Check-Out Hunger campaign with a $5,000 check presentation from Kraft
Foods. Representatives from program partner stores joined in the kick off.

In 2009, Check-Out Hunger collected nearly $185,000 to help feed those in

GENERAL CONTRACTORS ASSOCIATION OF
HAWAII FOOD DRIVE
November 18, 2009 — The General Contractors Association
of Hawaii (GCAH) presented the Foodbank with 4,780
pounds and $22,410 from its annual companywide food drive

NORDIC PCL CONSTRUCTION CHECK PRESENTATION
November 12, 2009 — Nordic PCL Construction and Aloha United
Way presented a check representing $10,000 in employee
designations to Dick Grimm, Hawaii Foodbank President (left).
The donation was part of a national, companywide campaign with all
Nordic PCL employees contributing to local food banks in their areas.

HAWAII BUSINESS EQUIPMENT PLATE LUNCH FUNDRAISER &
FOOD DRIVE
November 2009 — Hawaii Business Equipment (affectionately known by its
employees as “Hawaii's Best Eatery”), organized a food drive and plate lunch
fundraiser for the Foodbank as one of their Corporate Social Responsibility projects
for 2009. “Kaizen Team Kokua” prepared 310 plates of spaghetti with garlic bread,
teriyaki steak with macaroni salad and combination plates. The team successfully
fundraised 1,551 pounds of food.
