HAWAIIAN TELCOM FOOD DRIVE
January 7, 2010 - The employees of Hawaiian Telcom organized a companywide
food drive, including their offices on Oahu, the Big Island and Maui. Employees
collected a total of 502 pounds, part of which was presented to Polly Kauahi,
Hawaii Foodbank Director of Development (first left).
EAGLE SCOUT DESIGNATION PROJECT – BOY SCOUT TROOP 75
December 5, 2009 — Jay Oshita (inset) invited friends, family and fellow Boy
Scouts from Troop 75, Pearl City to the Foodbank warehouse to help complete his
Eagle Scout Designation project. The group drew, painted and pasted 252 creative
and colorful posters to raise awareness of hunger in Hawaii. The signs will be used by
volunteers on Annual Food Drive Day to help collect food and dollars at nine sites
across Oahu.
BOB & JOYCE TORREY ANNIVERSARY RICE
DRIVE
December 2009 — In celebration of their wedding anniversary,
Bob and Joyce Torrey asked family and friends to bring gifts
of 20 pound bags of rice to help feed the hungry in Hawaii.
SECURITAS CHECK PRESENTATION
January 25, 2010 — Derek Murakami, Business
Development Manager (left) and Sanj Sappal, Area Vice
President – Hawaii (center) of Securitas presented a check for
$2,500 to Dick Grimm, Hawaii Foodbank President.
The donation was made by the Securitas management team
with monies that were originally set aside for a customer
appreciation party. This year, the team felt it was important to
focus on helping those who have fallen on tough times.
Securitas employees have also volunteered their time on Annual
Food Drive Day at various sites throughout Oahu.
