Men of CharityInspired by Pope Benedict’s encyclical, Deus Caritas Est - God is Love, the SaintJames Men of Charity was formed in 2008. Men of Charity performs acts ofcharity and participates in and leads events that promote the Catholic faith insideand outside the parish community. Special emphasis is placed on support ofRight for Life activities. All adult men are invited to get involved in communityoutreach and parish activities supported by Men of Charity, which meets quarterlywith the full membership and monthly with the Executive Board. Contribute your handwork (afghans, blankets or10" squares that can be crafted into afghans or blankets) for the benefit of thenewly baptized babies at Sacred Heart Church in New Brunswick (Saint James’sister parish), guests of the Interfaith Hospitality Network and residents of theMcCarrick Care Center. The group meets quarterly in the Pastoral Center butattendance is not mandatory. Six sessions are offered, once a week, in the fall. Classes meetweekly from September through April on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday atSaint James School. The School of Religious Education also offers Vacation BibleSchool during the summer.
