<strong>The</strong> <strong>Four</strong> <strong>Pillars</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Sorority</strong> <strong>Life</strong>Leadership, Scholarship, Friendship, Service<strong>Lafayette</strong> <strong>College</strong> 2012chapter is also active with the Easton Area Boys and Girls Club where we lead a Girl Scouttroop. Together, just as in years past, we continue to inspire the woman and impact the world inthe communities in which we liveAlpha Phi (ΑΦ)Service is an integral part <strong>of</strong> our specific chapter, and sorority life as a whole. Our <strong>of</strong>ficialphilanthropic efforts raise money towards the Alpha Phi Found<strong>at</strong>ion, which provides grants andawards to various causes, most notably women's heart health. Alpha Phi‟s raise money for thisfound<strong>at</strong>ion through events like Pictures with Santa, Jail and Bail, and our largest event: King <strong>of</strong>Hearts. Alpha Phi also hosts an annual "Heart Healthy Dinner" each November, where wepresent healthy salads, meals, beverages, and desserts to other members <strong>of</strong> <strong>Lafayette</strong>'s campus,all while providing the campus with important facts and inform<strong>at</strong>ion about women's heart health.This semester, we brought a represent<strong>at</strong>ive from Easton Hospital to educ<strong>at</strong>e the campus aboutwomen's heart health, and how to avoid being <strong>at</strong> risk. In the community, Alpha Phi‟s venturedown the hill to Easton's ASPCA, where the women spend time with the c<strong>at</strong>s and dogs th<strong>at</strong> havebeen abandoned and taken in. On each trip, Alpha Phi‟s take the dogs outside <strong>of</strong> the building onscenic walks, and give the c<strong>at</strong>s nurture and love. Each spring, Alpha Phi‟s bring some dogs oncampus to the quad for the annual Pet-A-Pup day! Alpha Phi‟s are also involved with serviceoutside <strong>of</strong> our chapter, whether th<strong>at</strong> be through the Landis Center, other sorority and fr<strong>at</strong>ernityorganiz<strong>at</strong>ions, other campus clubs, or <strong>at</strong> home. Some examples <strong>of</strong> service events th<strong>at</strong> AlphaPhi‟s take part in are Literacy Day, Marina Day, David Heard Crane Building, Lafapalooza,Relay for <strong>Life</strong>, and more.Delta Delta Delta (ΓΓΓ)„to broaden the moral…life‟Since 1999, Delta Delta Delta has proudly supported St. Jude Research Hospital, which isintern<strong>at</strong>ionally recognized for its research and tre<strong>at</strong>ment <strong>of</strong> children with cancer and otherchronic diseases. At St. Jude, no child is ever denied tre<strong>at</strong>ment on the basis <strong>of</strong> an inability to pay,although it costs $1.7 million dollars a day to run St. Jude. Delta Delta Delta‟s newest mission isto raise $15 million dollars for St. Jude in five years. This goal was set in 2010 and we arecurrently $6 million dollars closer.Delta Gamma (ΓΓ)- <strong>The</strong> Delta Gamma Found<strong>at</strong>iono Protecting the gift <strong>of</strong> sight is one <strong>of</strong> Delta Gamma‟s highest prioritieso Since 1936 Delta Gamma‟s philanthropic purpose has been to stop blindnessbefore it startso <strong>The</strong> founders <strong>of</strong> DG adopted the motto “Do Good”o <strong>The</strong> Golden Anchor Program• “Adopt a Grandparent”Page | 7
