KCD’s grammar guru returns to Summer Stretch to assist studentsin making their subjects and verbs amicable and in properly positioning theirprepositions. A veteran of 25 years in the English curriculum, Alyce Pollitt fullyunderstands the grammar skills necessary for success in the Middle School, therigorous expectations of the Upper School, and the types of questions and skillsthat the SAT will demand. Targeting the differing backgrounds, abilities, andrequirements of the various grade levels, she is offering three different sessions,one each for students rising to grades 7, 8, and 9 (see below). During the week, at least one analyticalessay will be produced so that students can look at their product throughthe eyes of a teacher and the rubrics that are used. Students will also review howto use textual evidence clearly and effectively. Additionally, students will haveMLA citations reinforced.
