Our responsibility as Leaders of the Order is to do the
most good that we can and to inspire other Elks to do
the same. In the end, the responsibility for successful
service projects lies with each individual Lodge. It is our
job as Leaders of this Order to guide, motivate, and to
encourage our Lodges to focus their efforts wisely. Our
ultimate test as Leaders is not whether we make smart
decisions and act effectively in the short term, but
whether we teach others how to become leaders and to
continue to build an organization that will continue to be
healthy and thrive when we are not around.
As you know, my theme for this year is Together which
involves working together, having fun at what you do
and being proud of what you do. There is much that
each of us can do as Elks. Most of us have been in the
Order long enough to know and understand the power
of the Elks. Alone, we might be able to help individuals
here and there, to make small changes and to help in
small ways. However, the benefits of working together
are endless. Together we can really make a difference.
Together there is no limit to what we can achieve or
accomplish. As we move forward our strength and future
will lie in working together. Make no mistake there will be
obstacles, but we will overcome and we will move forward.
We will continue to make a difference in people’s
lives and we will continue to serve our communities.

I cannot thank the Lodges and their members enough
for all their great hospitality bestowed upon Audrey and
me during my visits. Also, thanks to the many Lodge
members, District Deputies/Regional Reps/etc.,
Provincial/Territorial Officers, PGERs who took time out
of their busy schedules to tour us around their communities
and set up media interviews. Our members have
so much to be proud of in this great country of ours.
I look forward to seeing many of you at the upcoming
Provincial/Territorial Conferences and at the Grand
Lodge Convention in Gander, Newfoundland in July.

CALL FOR AUCTION ITEMS
Each year at the Grand Lodge Convention two auctions are held to raise funds for the
Elks and Royal Purple Fund for Children and the National Sports Fund.
Over the last five years we have raised over $8,000 for
the Elks and Royal Purple Fund for Children
and over $2,900 for the National Sports Fund.
If you or your Lodge would like to donate an item to either
the Elks and Royal Purple Fund for Children
or Sports National Fund, please forward it to:
