Employment<strong>and</strong> <strong>training</strong>Why get involved?The Whanu Binal <strong>employment</strong><strong>and</strong> <strong>training</strong> program aims toconnect people with careersby giving you the skills <strong>and</strong>knowledge needed to build aconstruction career in the CSGindustry.Eligible participants will gain aCertificate I in Construction atno cost, with local <strong>employment</strong>opportunities available uponsuccessful completion of the<strong>training</strong>.The course will provideparticipants with:• intensive skills <strong>and</strong> support• h<strong>and</strong>s on practical <strong>training</strong>• industry visit <strong>and</strong> contacts• ongoing career developmentopportunities.Who can apply?A one-day introductory session isopen to members of TraditionalOwner groups in the WesternDowns region. During theintroductory session, participantswill be given an application <strong>for</strong>mwhich must be completed <strong>and</strong>submitted to be considered <strong>for</strong>the program.To be accepted into the 12 weekCertificate I Construction course,you must:• hold a current Jobseeker ID• have a current driver licence• be interested in undertaking anapprenticeship or traineeship• be available to attend the coursein Toowoomba <strong>for</strong> 12 weeks, fulltimeSuccessful applicants will beadvised be<strong>for</strong>e 1 March 2013. Ifyou are not selected <strong>for</strong> the firstround, you may apply <strong>for</strong> latersessions.Places are strictly limited, soregistration is essential to secureyour place.Please note - course participationis free, <strong>and</strong> participants will notbe paid <strong>for</strong> their involvement.
