Theother three membersare Bryce, who isfrom Nevada, Cole,who is from Texas,and Richard, the basssinger, who is fromColorado.Moosebutter performedsome of theirsongs for which theyare well-known suchas their rendition ofthe “Star Wars” theme,“Music of the Night,”“Psycho: The Musical”and some songs thatthey made up on thespot.The group had awide array styles thatthey incorporate intotheir shows such aslive audio looping,beat boxing and vocalpercussion.At a Moosebutterconcert, the audiencemust be prepared forthe possibility of beingtaken onto the stage toperform a unique mosquitodance or haveone of the membersserenade with a uniquesong.Stephanie MaasMoose madness:Mr. Tim, Cole and Bryce, members of Moosebutter, serenade LCCC studentAmber Carpenter with one of their original songs during their performance atthe Atlas Theatre on Oct. 6.Booklovers to unite for annual bashThe annual Booklovers’ Bash will be held Saturday, Oct. 17, at the Little America Hotel andResort.The annual social is presented by the Laramie County Library Foundation and will feature aprolific author, illustrator and Wyoming resident, Zachary Pullen.Pullen’s work has been seen in nationwide productions such as Sports Illustrated, the Wall StreetJournal and the New York Times, to name a few. The Booklovers’ Bash will include a cocktail hourand dinner along with on-the-spot drawings, literary anecdotes and an artful PowerPoint commentary.Individual tickets are $50. Tables of eight with sponsors or donors are $1,000 to $2,500.Reservations must be made by Monday, Oct. 12.For more information, visit the Web site at foundation@LCLSonline.org.Local filmakers to get their shot at fameStephanie MaasCheyenne may be a far cry from Hollywood, but on Oct. 23—25, filmmakers will get their chanceto show their films at the Shoot Out Cheyenne film festival.The festival gives filmmakers, musicians and actors of all ages a chance to participate in the 24-hour film competition. There are three categories for which participants can register: 17 and under,18 and over, and members of the same family.The idea of the festival is to give participants a 24–hour period to make a seven-minute film.The mission of the festival is to help break through artistic differences and bring people togetherthrough the creative art of filmmaking, Alan O’Hashi, producer of the event, said.Anybody interested in participating should visit www.theshootoutcheyenne.com. Forms can bedownloaded from the Web site and should be submitted no later than Oct. 19. The Top 10 films, aspicked by judges, will be screened on Oct. 25 at a downtown Cheyenne venue.In addition to being screened in Cheyenne, some of them may also be shown at other festivalssuch as the Wyoming Film Festival and the Boulder International Film Festival.
