Why is this? We have all seen the pictures of theHolocaust and we have all seen the pictures of the Polish and the Jews being marched into prisoncamps. I went to the Dachau Prison Camp in Germany with my first wife. It was sad to see the sizeof those camps, and to go through the buildings they left standing so that the world could see. Itwas shocking to go into the showers where they gassed the prisoners, and it was traumatic to see theovens where they burnt the bodies. We saw the ditches where they had lined up the Russian andother soldiers to execute them and then bury their bodies. It was tragic to see the barbed wireborders and to see the railroads and the train’s boxcars that had transported the prisoners to theseconcentration camps. I was mostly astounded that such a camp could be so close to German citiesand no one questioned what was going on to these poor people being slaughtered over years whilein their presence. How could the German people allow it to occur? Where was morality? Whywas not questions asked? Acts 3:22-23 22 ”For Moses trulysaid to the fathers, “The Lord yourGod will raise up for you a Prophetlike me from your brethren, Himyou shall hear in all things,whatever He says to you. 23 And itshall come to pass that every soulwho will not hear that Prophetshall be utterly destroyed fromamong the people.”Millions of people died at Dachau.Tens of thousands were tortured and many thousands were used for grotesque medical experimentswhile they were yet alive to see the body’s reaction to severe pain from torture. Dachau was noteven close to the worst of the Concentration Camps. These Camps were planned beforehand, andthey were organized to do their tasks. German soldiers and citizens voluntarily corruptedthemselves before God by serving as “prison guards” in these prison camps, and also tens ofthousands more corrupted themselves before God by serving to round up these people and causethem to be sent to these prison camps.
