This coming year… At the close of 2010, the Board of Directors made a decision, based on a proposal by the Executive Director, to focus the ministry of the BCMBS and for the year of 2011 to not lease a specific boat for the summer season of ministry. This decision was formed based on a number of opportunities, including: working with the changing desires and interest of our mission volunteers to spend more time in one specific coastal community, to continually be good stewards to the donors and supporters who financially support this E. 78 ministry for the best opportunities to share God’s love, to provided better year round ministry to Klemtu, Ehattesaht, Kyuquot, and Kingcome, and by doing all of this in accord to the calling and direction that we see God calling this ministry. At the end of 2011 the Board will evaluate this transportation change and discuss any new opportunities for sharing God’s love. We continue to be dedicated to reaching the lost and captive and will continue to seek whatever means of transportation is necessary to do this during our year round ministry! LAMP’s Vision We anticipate gathering together on the last day, when we will behold “a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb.” (Revelation 7:9) Highlights from 2010 2010 has been an absolutely outstanding year for LAMP in every respect. LAMP is just completing their most successful year in ministry. New staff members have joined the LAMP team, a rebuilt aircraft is in the process of being redeployed into the mission field, and God has provided the full amount of funding necessary to complete this year’s work. We take this opportunity to praise God! As we look back over the 40 years of ministry, it is obvious that God has provided all that LAMP has needed to carry out the work He has called us to do. It seems an almost impossible task to reach these people who live in one of the harshest climates and in one of the most remote areas of the world, but God has called us and He is faithful. We go forward in confidence. As one donor reminded me: “God has never let us down and I don’t suppose He ever will.” He will do it—and the amazing thing is that He chooses to use you and me to carry out that work! I am privileged and humbled to be a part of it. I pray that you also see your support of the work of LAMP as a great calling; one that we can only accomplish together with God’s help. Specifics: � Ministered in 52 communities; 5 new communities were added (and new teams were added to minister in these villages � Numbers were up all around with many more adults, youth, children ministered to than in 2009 � Many teams are including some kind of sports program to keep the youth involved. � Volunteer missionaries are able to become more involved on a weekly basis throughout the year as youth and adults use Facebook to interact and continue relationships established on the mission field. � More children continue to become informed about and involved with LAMP through “Fueling the Mission” program being offered by Sunday Schools and Vacation Bible Schools. � Communities are being visited more than once a year by several teams. Spiritual witness and nurture within communities: LAMP has turned 40. The difference we have made in people’s lives and in whole communities over the
