OPERATING MANUAL SUPPLEMENTFOR G350, G450, G500 AND G550 AIRPLANESGAC-OMS-04E. Emergency OperationWhen a CPDLC EMERGENCY message is sent, the ADSsystem will automatically go to Emergency mode. When ADSEmergency mode is activated and a normal periodic contractexists before the creation of Emergency mode, its reporting rateis retained and applied to the default emergency periodiccontract. When a normal periodic contract does not exist beforethe creation of Emergency mode, a default emergency periodiccontract will be established. If the AFCS Emergency DescentMode (EDM) is activated, an Emergency Report MAYDAY willbe automatically sent 30 or 60 seconds after EDM becomesactive, unless the pilot cancels the emergency report.NOTE: If ADS EMERGENCY is inadvertently selected on the ATCLOGON/STATUS page, the aircrew should turn ADS EMERGENCYOFF and either send a CPDLC free text message “ADS RESET”, orcontact ATC via HF radio to cancel the emergency.REVISION 1 (REISSUE)GAC-OMS-04JUL 1/12 Page 13
