c. The strap may be removable or non-removable and may have a goldcolored<br />
or black-coated buckle. It will be of the same material as the purse<br />
and no part of the strap will be made of chain. The strap will be of<br />
sufficient length to allow the handbag to be carried properly per<br />
subparagraph 3013.3.<br />
2. The handbag may be carried at the individual's option with the service,<br />
blue dress, and blue-white dress uniforms. The handbag will not be carried<br />
in formation or when the utility uniform or maternity work uniform is worn.<br />
3. The handbag will be carried either over the left shoulder or left arm.<br />
The strap will be adjusted so that the bottom of the handbag will be near the<br />
bottom of the uniform coat. When carried over the left arm, the strap will<br />
be adjusted to its shortest length.<br />
><strong>CH</strong> 5 4. Officers may procure a clutch purse(s) to wear with dress uniforms.<br />
Black clutch purses purchased from commercial sources may be used with<br />
appropriate dress uniforms. The clutch purse will be plain, unadorned,<br />
rectangular, and will not exceed 6 inches by 9 inches. USMC approval<br />
identification is not required for the clutch purse.<br />
><strong>CH</strong> 5 5. A black clutch purse may be carried with all evening dress<br />
uniforms, and the officers' blue dress or blue-white dress "A"/"B" uniforms<br />
when worn in lieu of the evening dress uniform.<br />
3015. JACKET, TANKER<br />
1. The tanker jacket, authorized for individual optional purchase and wear,<br />
is made of a pewter gray polyester/wool gabardine material that has been<br />
treated to be water-repellent/resistant.<br />
2. The jacket may be worn with the dress "C"/"D" uniforms, the service<br />
"B"/"C" uniforms and service or blue dress uniform with sweater. When worn<br />
the jacket will be zipped at least to the top (i.e., the highest point) of<br />
the external slash pockets. When worn with the sweater, the sleeves and the<br />
waistband of the sweater will be rolled up or under to ensure they do not<br />
extend below the jacket's sleeves/waistband.<br />
3. Officers will wear their insignia of grade on the shoulder straps in the<br />
same manner as worn on the all-weather coat. Enlisted Marines will wear<br />
metal/plastic insignia of grade on the shoulder straps, single point inboard,<br />
and placed in the same manner as field/company grade officer's insignia.<br />
4. The jacket will not be worn with the all-weather coat, nor will it be<br />
worn with the utility uniform. It will not be worn for inspections,<br />
ceremonial formations, or parades. It may be worn for leave/liberty. The<br />
jacket is authorized for wear, without insignia, with civilian clothing.<br />
