b. When the service frame cap is worn with service uniforms, service cap<br />

insignia will be worn centered vertically in the eyelet provided. It will<br />

also be worn in the same manner on the fiber sun helmet and campaign hat.<br />

c. The left service collar insignia will be worn on the left front side<br />

of the garrison cap, with the insignia centered vertically in the eyelet<br />

provided.<br />

3. Collar Insignia. (See figs. 4-3, 5-3, and 5-4.)<br />

a. Dress collar insignia will be worn on the blue and white dress coats<br />

and evening dress jackets placed in the eyelets provided, with eagles facing<br />

inboard, as follows:<br />

(1) For male personnel the insignia will be aligned vertically in the<br />

center of each side of the collar on the blue dress coats and the officers'<br />

evening dress jacket. On the SNCO evening dress jacket the insignia will be<br />

worn on each side with the wing span horizontally parallel to the deck.<br />

(2) For female personnel, the insignia will be worn on each side<br />

centered between the crease roll and edge of the collar on the evening dress<br />

jacket and the blue dress coats, with the wing span parallel to the bottom<br />

edge of the coat or jacket.<br />

b. Service collar insignia will be worn on the collar of the service<br />

coat, centered on the collar in the eyelets provided, eagles facing inboard,<br />

with the wing tips parallel to the bottom of the coat.<br />

4002. BREAST INSIGNIA. (See fig. 4-4.)<br />

1. General<br />

a. Per the current edition of <strong>MCO</strong> P1000.6, Assignment Classification and<br />

Travel Systems (ACTS) Manual and whose right to wear the insignia has not<br />

been specifically revoked, a Marine qualified or designated as a naval<br />

aviator, naval flight officer, Marine aerial navigator, naval aviation<br />

observer, naval or combat aircrew member, parachutist, explosive ordnance<br />

disposal technician, or U.S. Navy diver, will wear appropriate breast<br />

insignia according to the following regulations.<br />

b. A Marine designated as a naval astronaut (pilot, NFO, or mission<br />

specialist) will wear the appropriate naval astronaut insignia as prescribed<br />

by the Department of the Navy.<br />

c. In addition to the breast insignia authorized in these regulations,<br />

naval medical officers assigned to Marine Corps units who are designated<br />

flight surgeons may wear the U.S. Navy gold metal flight surgeon insignia on<br />

Marine Corps service and utility uniforms.<br />

d. Only those breast insignia listed in these regulations are authorized<br />

for wear on Marine Corps uniforms.<br />

e. Other U.S. service pilot/navigator insignia and foreign pilot insignia<br />

may be worn, but only as authorized in subparagraph 4002.3.<br />
