<strong>MARINE</strong> <strong>CORPS</strong> <strong>UNIFORM</strong> REGULATIONS<br />

cognizance of a Marine Corps installation provost marshal, the Commanding<br />

Officer of Marine Helicopter Squadron One, or the commanding officer of a<br />

Marine Corps correctional facility. FMF and Marine Corps Reserve personnel<br />

are not authorized to wear the badge, but will continue to use the standard<br />

military police brassards described in subparagraph 7001.3.<br />

a. The badge will be worn only when the individual is in a duty status<br />

performing garrison law enforcement functions. Badges will not be worn<br />

during FMF combat operations or training. Badges will not be carried or<br />

displayed under any circumstances when off duty. When the military police<br />

badge is worn, neither marksmanship badges nor JCS or OSD Identification<br />

Badges will be worn.<br />

b. The badge will be worn by male Marines on the upper-left pocket. The<br />

badge will be centered on the pocket between the lower point of the pocket<br />

flap and the bottom of the pocket, midway between the two sides.<br />

c. On the women's coat, the badge will be centered 1/8 inch below the top<br />

seam of the pocket. On women's khaki shirts, it will be centered 1/8 inch<br />

below the bottom line of ribbons. The placement of the badge may be adjusted<br />

if necessary to ensure the proper flat appearance.<br />

d. The badge will be worn on outer garments including the sweaters, AWC,<br />

tanker jacket and field coat in the same approximate position as on the<br />

service coat.<br />

6. Commanders may prescribe military police equipment with the utility<br />

uniform when it is impractical to wear the service uniform due to local<br />

climatic conditions.<br />

7. Wearing clear plastic or other types of covers over white belts is not<br />

authorized.<br />

7012. MOURNING BAND. The mourning band may be issued to enlisted Marines<br />

according to paragraph 3017.<br />

7013. PHYSICAL TRAINING CLOTHING, SPECIAL ORGANIZATIONAL<br />

1. Commanders that procure PT shirts and issue them as organizational<br />

property may prescribe such shirts for unit physical training. These shirts<br />

may be olive green or other, with unit distinct logos, or other markings, as<br />

commanders deem appropriate. Unit issued PT shirts will not be worn with<br />

civilian attire during leave and liberty.<br />

1. Training and education commands are authorized to procure, using locally<br />

held O&M funds, and issue as organizational property colored physical<br />

training clothing to training supervisory personnel. The intent of this<br />

authorization is to provide a PT uniform that distinguishes supervisory<br />

personnel from students/recruits/candidates for safety reasons.<br />

2. Training and education commands with water survival as part of their<br />

course curriculum are authorized to issue as organizational property UDT<br />

shorts and colored tank tops to their water survival instructors. In<br />
