NetLink Store and Forward SolutionsThe Net-Link product, which has domotechnology at its core, allows CobhamSurveillance equipment to be connected toIP networks. In its basic form the Net-Linkcan be connected to the output of anystandard Cobham receiver, and translates thereceiver signal into a streaming video service.Net-Link can be set to stream at ratessuitable for either private or public networks. In private network mode it will streamfull frame rate, full resolution video formaximum quality. When connected to publicnetworks where the data rates are limited,it will produce a reduced frame rate andresolution stream at a data rate appropriatefor the network 1 . Net-Link uses AES128 orAES256 encryption to ensure the securityof the transmission. These transmissionscan then be decoded in software using theNETEPLAY application or in hardware usingthe NETIPH IP Hardware decoder. The Net-Link also has an RS232 output suitable forcontrol of any PTZ camera that might beconnected to it. Net-Link is fitted with a USBinterface for WiFi connectivity.Net-Link is supplied in a sealed ruggedaluminium box suitable for long termsecurity deployments. The Net-Link product can be upgraded withsome powerful options:• Net-Link DVR(I or E) - Upgrading theNet-Link with an internal or remote DVRoption, which creates a sophisticated‘store and forward’ product, allows theviewing of video across real world lowbitrate public networks, such as 3G orthe internet. The DVR option recordsthe incoming high quality video to alocal hard disk, whilst streaming out alive low bitrate thumbnail service tothe user at a capacity which matchesthat available on the public network. If the user is interested in somethingseen on the thumbnail stream, then thehigh quality video can be retrieved innon-real time by download from thehard disk. To assist the user to retrievethe video of interest, Net-Link offers asophisticated range of time logging andtrigger functions, and also fast forwardand rewind viewing options. It can beconnected to external sensors to triggerrecording or build a time-stamped graphof events. By clicking on a specific event, the software will automatically downloadthe corresponding video fragment. Net-Link is a multi-cast product when used ona private LAN or a uni-cast product whenused over the internet.• Net-Link AV - Upgrading the Net-Linkwith the video input option enables theNet-Link to connect direct to a camera,in addition to being able to connectto the output of a Cobham microwavereceiver. This function enables IP videoand audio transmission across public andprivate networks.Features:• 10/100 Ethernet ports• Streaming onto public or private networks• Transcoding to low frame rate/resolution to match availablecapacity on public networks• PTZ output port to support local camera• AES128/256 encryption for end-to-end security• Local video input option• Support for built-in remote DVR option with video downloadand trigger logging• Runs on 8-16 Volt DC, or 100-240 Volt AC with included powersupply unit.Option A - Net-Link connects Cobham Wireless Solutions to IP Networks• Net-Link offers a flexible modular solutionfor use in conjunction with Cobham COFDMWireless Systems.Option B - Net-Link receives direct video input for ‘store and forward’ and multi-casts over Private Networks• Net-Link can be upgraded to receive direct AV feed.34For further information please contact +44 (0)1489 566 750
