The earliest ancestor is listed as Reuben May, born September 24, 1776 (nobirthplace noted), died October 21, 1833 in Jackson, Tennessee. His first wife was (?) Lee (?). Hissecond was Elizabeth (?). His son (which woman was his mother???) was Robert May, born in1794 in Franklin Co., North Carolina. Robert died in March 1869 in Jackson, Tennessee (where heis buried in the May Cemetery). He married Nancy Hill, who was born c. 1800 in Albermarle,South Carolina. She died c. 185- and is also buried in the May Cemetery. Their son was WilliamBenjamin May, born June 4, 1836 in Franklin Co., North Carolina. He died May 10, 1887, and isburied in the East Laurel Cemetery in Jackson, Tennessee. He married Mary William Johnston,born October 1840 in Jaackson, TN. She died December 1895 or January 1896, probably inJackskon. Randolph Hill May was born November 30, 1881 in Jackson, TN. He died September 3,1945 in Vernon, Texas (buried in Eastview Cemetery). On September 13, 1907 he married FlauraMyrtle Savage, born March 28, 1883 in Personville, Texas. She died May 15, 1962 in Fort Worth,Texas, and is also buried in Vernon. The family supposedly immigrated from England, probablyas indentured servants, and the name could be of Norman origin. However...the people aroundEnnistymon and Corofin, in County Clare, Ireland, look a whole lot like this side of my family.
