New Bern, NC and died in Dale, Alabama. She was the daughter of Dr. JosephMares. Her mother's maiden name (Mrs. Mares)is unknown to me. The mother of Eliza is ourmissing link. Eliza married a second time to Reverand John L. Oliver, Jr. about 1867 after herfirst husband, Beasor Barrow, b. 1800 in NC passed away in 1861 in Alabama. Some believe thisMares line to be from France. It is "possible" that they were in VA early on in North America'shistory. Ethnic origin is French tomy knowledge. Had curiosity rather than expectations. Always felt that we are all related, eitherclose or distant. The only surprise was how many different nationalities and ethnic groups sharedthe same mtDNA sequence. If we share the same common ancestor then why are we alwaysfighting? Guess the Abel and Cain story explains that. This also means that the "pure" bredethnic groups aren't so "pure" bred. From what my genealogical research has determined, I camefrom some very strong, determined, brave, intelligent women at least back to around 1700 or so,for which I am grateful. Who knows what the prior women were like, but, pretty sure they werevery strong, determined, brave, intelligent women. I had determined that Alsace, France is wheremy ancestors had originated, so was not surprise to see that this Country is listed in my mtDNAresults. There are approximately 65 Ashkenazi entries under comments in my mtDNA resultswhich upon research indicates Hebrew woman as part of my ascendency. That kind of "kills" the"pure bred" theory. Found a couple of (not exact HVR2) matches with me based on HaplogroupH only results. They both had too many of the same surnames (male and female) in their lines notto have some connection to me. Received the HVR2 results and they did match (however, notexactly). In summing up, this is really fantastic to research.Email address (To use delete '-Friday-' and add @ sign in that position): winninglyn-Friday-msn.comGuest: SLYDate-Time: Friday, October 07, 2005 at 16:01:31 (CDT)Testing Company Used: FamilyTreeDNAHVR1 MtDNA Results: 16222T, 16224C, 16311C, 16519CMtDNA Haplogroup per HVR1 Results: KHVR2 MtDNA Test Results: 73G, 146C, 152C, 263G, 315.1CDate MtDNA Test Was Ordered: August 2005file:///D|/KERCHNER.COM/mtdnalog/mtdnalog2005.htm (41 of 108)3/8/2010 8:21:33 PM
