This will be up and runn<strong>in</strong>gfrom summer 2011 – dates and venues to be announced<strong>in</strong> the media and on the <strong>Council</strong>’s website.This <strong>in</strong>itiative is to engage with young people aged 11 to18 <strong>in</strong> their local environment.Pa<strong>in</strong>tball<strong>in</strong>g is a physically demand<strong>in</strong>g activity thatencourages team work, trust and cooperation betweenthose tak<strong>in</strong>g part. It is a safe and fun way for youngstersto develop tactical and communication skills (both verbaland non-verbal) <strong>in</strong> a monitored environment us<strong>in</strong>g<strong>Council</strong> and Parish Multi Use Games Area’s and otherassociated grassed open spaces dur<strong>in</strong>g even<strong>in</strong>g, weekendand school holiday periods. Because it is a supervised This is the Masteractivity it will help reduce local Anti Social Behaviour. Chief that the 11 to<strong>Bassetlaw</strong> <strong>District</strong> <strong>Council</strong> currently has n<strong>in</strong>e Multi Use18 year olds will playaga<strong>in</strong>st <strong>in</strong> one of theGames Areas located at Goosemoor Lane, Hallcroft Roadgames <strong>in</strong> a sessionand K<strong>in</strong>gs Park <strong>in</strong> Retford, The Canch, Gateford Road,Farr Park and Prospect Park <strong>in</strong> Worksop, Ra<strong>in</strong>bow Park <strong>in</strong>Manton and The Village Hall, off Ashvale Rd <strong>in</strong> Tuxford.Other Multi Use Games Areas and associated grassed open spaces can be found<strong>in</strong> more rural areas owned by Parish <strong>Council</strong>s.Up to 72 young people take part<strong>in</strong> this excit<strong>in</strong>g new programmethat will be available dur<strong>in</strong>g schoolholiday periods and at weekends.In addition, sessions could be alsodelivered several even<strong>in</strong>gs per week.The pa<strong>in</strong>tball<strong>in</strong>g unit is a fully selfconta<strong>in</strong>ed <strong>in</strong>flatable 20m x 35marena with barriers to hide beh<strong>in</strong>d.Each group of 12 young people isAn idea of what the pa<strong>in</strong>tballarena will look likedivided <strong>in</strong>to six teams of two to playfour 10 m<strong>in</strong>ute games dur<strong>in</strong>g a onehour period.BASSIPAEDIAWorksop town F.C. 4th oldest team <strong>in</strong> U.KWorksop Town Football Club was formed 140 years ago mak<strong>in</strong>g it the fourth oldestfootball club <strong>in</strong> the U.K, beh<strong>in</strong>d Sheffield F.C, Cray Wanderers F.C and Hallam F.C. Theclubs first pitch was at Netherton Road orig<strong>in</strong>ally play<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> green and white stripedshirts with a mix of amateur and professional players.
