Sports and AthleticsThe 1st Anthony Tordesillas MemorialAge Group Tennis Tournament washeld on June 23, 24, & 30 toJuly 1, 2012 in memory of the latetennis coach Anthony Tordesillas.The tournament was initiated by hisfamily to pay tribute to a man whoselove and passion for tennis neverwaned until he succumbed to cancerat the age of 52. A total of 105In Honor of a Beloved Coachparticipants played, not only to win butalso to show how Coach Anthony inspired them todevelop their tennis skills. Coach Anthony startedteaching tennis in the Club in 2004.Bianca Gotuaco Earns Three Gold MedalsAfter a series of winningstreaks in two archerytournaments held in theUnited States late thissummer, fourteen year oldBianca Roxas- Gotuaco hasonce again brought prideto the country and to ourClub. The young archer wontwo Golds in the Nor EasterTournament (Ranking Roundand Olympic Round) held in Massachusetts.Bianca scored 619 in the Cadet category.The Nor Easter Tournament is one of the fivemajor US Ranking Tournaments in the UnitedStates.Bianca also won Gold in the Ranking Round ofthe US Nationals held in Ohio, with an impressivescore of 1265 and placed 4th in Olympic Round.She competed in the Recurve Cadet Division(14-17 years old) in both rounds.Bianca represented the state of California in thesecompetitions. She’s a member of the USA Archeryand the Junior Olympic Archery DevelopmentClub (JOAD) which is a requirement to join theUS Nationals.22SPORTS AND ATHLETICS
