EMPLOYEES NookCBA Makes HistoryThe Collective BargainingAgreement (CBA) for theperiod June 1, 2012 to May31, 2017 was settled inrecord time of one meetingon June 13, 2012. The shortbut fruitful negotiation wasled by Rafael Llamas (GeneralManager), Grace Fernandez(Director for HR), Vesfe Revisa(Asst. Controller) and Atty.Casey Batino (Labor Lawyer)from MPC Management andEduardo Asuncion (FUR-TUCP* President), Art Basea(FUR-TUCP Vice-President)and Union President EdwinMagistrado from the LaborGroup.The formal CBA signing washeld on July 17, 2012. MPCPresident Roman Azanzagraced the occassion alongwith the Club ManagementTeam, FUR-TUCP Officers andMPC Union Officers.Pres. Azanza led a ceremonialtoast signifying the strongerpartnership betweenManagement and Labor.* Federation of Unions of RizalTrade Union Congress at the PhilippinesKabalikat Launches a New Wellness ProgramWith strong support from Top Management, theClub Labor-Management Cooperation “Kabalikat”initiated a new and exciting Employee Health andWellness Program. Tagged as “Health Watch”,the program was successfully launched through aWellness Fair on June 15, 2012 at the MckinleyRoom. It was positively received by Club personneland service providers who are all eager to jumpstarta healthy lifestyle.Health Watch is a year long program that aims toprovide the employees and theirfamilies with the information andmeans of achieving a healthier30EMPLOYEES NOOKlifestyle that will result in improved quality oflife, higher morale, decreased absenteeism,greater productivity and controlled employeehealth insurance claims. Service providersand contractual workers are also welcometo join the activities which will vary eachmonth. Among these activities are exerciseprograms like martial arts, dance classand aerobics, health talks/forums, sportstournaments and many more.One of the program’s highlights is the “HealthChallenge” considered as the “Biggest Loser”version of the Club. Here, overweight employeesare encouraged and guided to lose weight withina specified period. Whoever loses the most amountof unwanted weight wins.In general, the Health and Wellness Program isspecially designed to be sustainable, fun andinteresting to all participants. It is meant toempower them to take charge and improve theirhealth even after they leave Manila Polo Club.
