N1 Centre, 16 Parkfield St, N1 0PS (7288 4400, o2academyislington. co.uk) �Angel Screen on the Green THE HUB OF GAY LIFE IN LONDON Where Upper Street and Essex Road meet, The Green is a smartly designed bar with a good cocktail list and a great location. Just off Upper Street, the late-opening Eddy (on Bromfield Street) has been a one-for-theroad fixture for years. Along Pentonville Road you’ll find Central Station, another of gay N1’s old favourites, smartened up last year but still offering cabaret, karaoke and a converted coal hole housing a men-only underground bar. Girls with guitars can get their fix at Chicks Rock every other Thursday at the Zenith The Gay Gordons Bar, Packington Street – giggers and groupies equally welcome. At Club Kali, Bollywood and bhangra are on offer on the first and third Friday of the month at the world's biggest gay Asian music club (changing facilities are available). More sedate movement can be found at Studio la Danza on Holloway Road – Wednesday night gay and lesbian classes are followed by a social dance.
