To put the results in perspective:• 100 E.coli/100 mL is the level at which public beaches are posted unsafe for swimming;• Kawartha Lake Stewards Association believes the safe swimming level for our lakes should be more stringent than this,and have set the acceptable level at 50 E.coli/100 mL. Over the past few years,there have been occasional high counts in Sites J, 25, 26, 27 and 28. These are fairlyconfined bays with high human activity. No counts over 50 were seen in these areasthis year.77
