Funded by the SubstanceAbuse <strong>and</strong> Mental Health Services Administration, Center for SubstanceAbuse Treatment (SAMHSA, CSAT), Southeast ATTC:◆◆◆Fosters alliances <strong>and</strong> collaborative efforts to support <strong>and</strong> implement the mosteffective evidence-based practices in the treatment of substance use disordersProvides training, technical assistance, <strong>and</strong> <strong>other</strong> technology transfer activitiesto increase the awareness, knowledge, <strong>and</strong> skills of practitioners <strong>and</strong> pre-service<strong>professionals</strong>Develops <strong>and</strong> disseminates written resources to assist the treatment field <strong>and</strong>allied health <strong>and</strong> human service fields in their pursuit of greater effectivenessSoutheast ATTC is also a project of Morehouse School of Medicine (MSM) - NationalCenter for Primary Care (NCPC). It has been in existence at MSM since 1993,serving practitioners in Georgia <strong>and</strong> South Carolina. Southeast ATTC fosters culturalappropriateness, cultivates system change, disseminates <strong>addiction</strong> information,identifies resources, <strong>and</strong> promotes evidence-based treatment approaches that willbuild an improved workforce <strong>and</strong> serve the community more effectively.The Principal Investigator of Southeast ATTC is Kay Gresham, LCSW, ACSW.nThe Addiction Technology Transfer Center NetworkBuilding on a rich history, the Addiction Technology Transfer Center (ATTC) Networkis dedicated to identifying <strong>and</strong> advancing opportunities for improving <strong>addiction</strong>treatment. The Network’s vision is to unify science, education, <strong>and</strong> services to transformthe lives of individuals <strong>and</strong> families affected by <strong>alcohol</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>other</strong> <strong>drug</strong> <strong>addiction</strong>.The Network undertakes a broad range of initiatives that respond to emergingneeds <strong>and</strong> issues in the treatment field. The Network is funded by the SubstanceAbuse <strong>and</strong> Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) to upgrade the skillsof existing practitioners <strong>and</strong> <strong>other</strong> health <strong>professionals</strong> <strong>and</strong> to disseminate the latestscience to the treatment community. The ATTC Network uses those resourcesto create a wide range of products <strong>and</strong> services that are timely <strong>and</strong> relevant to themany disciplines represented by the <strong>addiction</strong> treatment workforce.Serving the 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the U.S. VirginIsl<strong>and</strong>s <strong>and</strong> the Pacific Isl<strong>and</strong>s, the ATTC Network operates as 14 individual RegionalCenters joined by a National Office.n 57 n
