Yankton Bridge ProjectWins Environmental AwardThe Yankton Bridge project,located on Highway 81, inDistrict 3, was the recipient <strong>of</strong>the fourth annual EnvironmentalAward, given by the NDOR/AGCJoint Committee <strong>of</strong> Seeding andErosion Control.The award presentation occurredduring ceremonies at the 2010 ProjectManagers’ Conference held March 23-25 in Kearney. Plaques were presentedto the prime contractor, Jensen Con -struction Company and to Tri-StateSeeding, A&R Construction Company,Commercial Contractors Equipment,Hartington Tree Service and Plumbingand Electric Service, who were sub -contractors responsible for variousaspects <strong>of</strong> environmental compliance.Pat Boyle, District 3 ConstructionEngineer, and Bob Wiebelhaus,District 3 Project Manager, alsoaccepted plaques. Certificates weregiven to District 3 Engineer KrisWinter, Pat Boyle, Scott Brummond,Quinn Damgaard <strong>of</strong> HDR, and NDORinspectors Mark Droppers, Dale Lange,Brett Mainquist, Matt Samuelson,Keith Stoural and Steve Ulmer.According to Ron Poe, NDORHighway Environmental ProgramManager, “This award is a credit tothe level <strong>of</strong> effort and emphasis thatBob Wiebelhaus, Scott Brummond,District 3 and the staff <strong>of</strong> JensenConstruction have placed on environ -mental commitments on the YanktonBridge project. Seeing this project builtas quickly as it was, while maintainingcompliance with all the environmentalcommitments on this project is atestament to the importance District 3has placed on environmental issues.”The Environmental Award forStormwater/Erosion Control isawarded annually to the projectwhose project manager and contractorhave worked together to develop ameans <strong>of</strong> protecting the project sitefrom erosive conditions.
