A man and a woman live in a village not far from Berlin. Th e couple have loved each other since<br />
they were children. Th ey are inseparable. He is a welder and a member of the auxiliary fi re brigade.<br />
One day, the man goes on a business trip to a large town with the fi re brigade. Aft er a night<br />
of heavy drinking he wakes up in another woman’s apartment. He can barely remember what<br />
went on. His eff orts to fi nd out what did occur lead to a passionate aff air. Th is liaison does not<br />
change his love for his wife. But, try as he might, he cannot seem to fi nd his way back to his old<br />
life. And so one day he picks up a shotgun and aims for his heart.<br />

Born in Bremen in 1968, she grew up in Berlin. She studied philosophy<br />
and German language and literature in Berlin, Munich and Vienna, followed<br />
by studies at the Viennese Film Academy, where she was taught by<br />
Peter Patzak. A guest student at the German Film and Television Academy<br />
in Berlin, she made her graduation fi lm, MEIN STERN, in 2001.
