Draining any remaining water andcleaning the pump filterYour product is equipped with a filter systemwhich ensures a cleaner water discharge thatextends pump life by preventing solid itemssuch as buttons, coins and fabric fibers fromclogging the pump propeller during dischargeof the washing water.• If your machine fails to drain the water,the pump filter may be clogged. Youmay have to clean it every 2 years orwhenever it is plugged. Water must bedrained off to clean the pump filter.In addition, water may have to be drained offcompletely in the following cases:• before transporting the machine (e.g.when moving house)• when there is the danger of frostIn order to clean the dirty filter and dischargethe water;1- Unplug the machine to cut off the supplypower.A There may be water at 90°C in themachine. Therefore, the filter must becleaned only after the inside wateris cooled down to avoid hazard ofscalding.2- Open the filter cap. The filter cap may becomposed of one or two pieces according tothe model of your machine.If it is composed of two pieces, press the tabon the filter cap downwards and pull the pieceout towards yourself.If it is composed of one piece, hold it fromboth sides and open it by pulling out.3- An emergency drain hose is supplied withsome of our models. Others are not suppliedwith this item.If your product is supplied with an emergencydrain hose, do the following as shown in thefigure below:• Pull out the pump outlet hose from itshousing.• Place a large container at the end ofthe hose. Drain the water off into thecontainer by pulling out the plug at theend of the hose. If the amount of waterto be drained off is greater than thevolume of the container, replace theplug, pour the water out, then resumethe draining process.• After draining process is completed,replace the plug into the end of thehose and fit the hose back into itsplace.If your product is not supplied with anemergency drain hose, do the following asshown in the figure below:• Place a large container in front of thefilter to receive water flowing from thefilter.• Loosen pump filter (anticlockwise) untilwater starts to flow out of it. Direct theflowing water into the container youhave placed in front of the filter. Youcan use a piece of cloth to absorb anyspilled water.• When there is no water left, turn thepump filter until it is completely looseand remove it.• Clean any residues inside the filteras well as fibers, if any, around thepropeller region.• If your product has a water jet feature,be sure to fit the filter into its housingin the pump. Never force the filter whilereplacing it into its housing. Fit the filterfully into its housing; otherwise, watermay leak from the filter cap.4- Close the filter cap.Close the two-piece filter cap of your productby pushing the tab on it.Close the one-piece filter cap of your productby fitting the tabs on the bottom into theirpositions and pushing the upper part of it.36 - EN
