Histopathologic Dx of DysplasiaDysplasia: Presence of neoplastic epithelium thatremains confined within the basement membrane.Occurs in up to 10-20% of cases if left untreated.Identification of dysplasia by light microscopy isstill considered the “gold standard” by which patientfollow-up and treatment is coordinated.
