If a customer complains of MIL (Malfunction Indicator Lamp) 'ON', and a DTC(Diagnostic Trouble Code) of P0340 (Camshaft Position Sensor [CMPS] [Phase]) orP1335 (Crank Position Sensor-Ref) or P1336 (Crankshaft Position Sensor POS-cog) orP0335 (Crankshaft Position Sensor [POS]) is found stored, use the following procedureto repair the vehicle.2. Check the continuity of all wires in the circuit diagram for the indicated sensor. Alsocheck to ensure no short circuits to ground are present.3. If steps 1 & 2 do not resolve the incident, open the ECM end of the ECCS harness forapproximately 30 cm (12 inches). Find and separate the five (5) white wires from thesix (6) fuel injector wires. These two groups of wires should be separated from eachother the entire distance from the ECM connector (F101) to the shield portions of thewhite wires (approximately 30 cm [12 inches]).DTC CODE ECM Pin # Wire Color Injector # WIRE Pin # Wire ColorP0340 46, 47 White 1 102 R/BP1335 44, 48 White 2 109 R/GP1336 49 White 3 104 R/YP0335 49 White 4 111 B/OR5 106 L/W6 113 PU/R1/3
