Helping your supervisees changefrom a group to a team is a slow process, involving careful cultivation, nurturing, and tending with care.Just like gardens, groups have life cycles. In this program, we will examine the five stages of groupdevelopment and diagnose the current growth stage of your own work group. We will discuss the challenges ofeach stage of growth for both the supervisor and the supervisees. We will diagnose the work group's skills incommunications, decision making, and performing as a team. We will conduct self-assessments to betterunderstand our own behaviors as team behaviors and how they can affect the health of the team.Finally, we will examine different leadership styles and their impact on group development.
