User levelsOur curriculum objectives and levels are in line withthe level descriptions in the Common EuropeanFramework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).This framework allows you <strong>to</strong> compare the level oflanguage courses and exam qualifications of differentschools across Europe and define 6 levels of languageproficiency: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2.We work in an integrated manner w<strong>here</strong>by listening,speaking, reading and writing skills are well balanced.Below you find a global description of the differentlevels and objectives:Basic User• A1 BreakthroughHere you start as an absolute beginner. You learnthe language fundamentals so you can communicatebasic messages in daily situations. At this level youask and answer straightforward questions concerningyourself, your immediate surroundings and needs.You interact in a simple way. You can understandthe main points in simple announcements andnotices, fill in forms and write short messages.You learn <strong>to</strong> communicate in single words andshort phrases. You master the basics in terms ofvocabulary, grammar, spelling and pronunciation.• A2 WaystageAt this level you evolve <strong>to</strong> self-reliance. You developfrom a beginner <strong>to</strong> a basic user successfully makingyourself unders<strong>to</strong>od in familiar situations of daily life.You can exchange information about yourself, the directworld around you and necessities in daily life. You canhandle short social exchanges, understand the mainpoints in everyday messages, announcements, menusor ads and write simple notes and personal letters.6
