Make a Human Powered Siege WeaponThis weekend, make a human powered siege weapon. Using a human as acounter-weight and PVC piping for the structure, this catapult can hurl waterballoons 100 yards or more.For this project I joined forces with siege weapon builder William Gurstelle.As soon as we had cut the pieces, we loose fit them together and startedhurling balloons. We built this at Maker Faire and after nearly hitting ahuman target, it didn’t take long for the safety officer to come along and tellus to move along. We found an out of the way spot and switched from firingwater balloons to firing a plastic cow! AWAY SUPPORTERS GUIDE TOVISITING MADEJSKI STADIUMProgrammePick up a match programme for £3 from our programme sellers stationed all around the outsideof the stadium and just inside the turnstiles.Gate, Turnstiles and StewardsMake your way to your gate number indicated on your ticket or confirmation email. Turnstilesopen 1½ hours before kick-off. Place your ticket into the reader at the entrance to the turnstile,when the light turns green, push the turnstile and make your way through. If you experience aproblem, then do not panic as our friendly customer support staff in blue jackets will be happy toassist. Once inside the stadium follow the signs to find your block where you will be seated. If youhave trouble locating your seat, please ask the nearest steward for assistance.Don’t ForgetInside Madejski Stadium is a no smoking facility. If you wish to smoke at half time, please makeyour way outside to our secure compound where there will also be refreshments available.FOOD AND ENTERTAINMENTVisit one of our outside catering units prior to entering the turnstiles to purchase items such as: burgers,sausages, hog roast, fish and chips. Otherwise, our kiosks located along the stadium concourses offer awide range of hot and cold food and drink items. Food Hawkers operate within the family seated area athalf time to make purchasing food items easy for families.We hope that you will enjoy watching highlights of your club’s previous season shown on televisionsthroughout the Away stand concourses throughout the pre-match build up and also during half time.FURTHER INFORMATIONAn ATM is located to the right of the Megastore. Left Luggage can be found near Gate 1 (signposted).TIME TO GO HOMEPlease note that in order to allow pedestrians, buses and coaches to exit the stadium safely, cars will beheld back in the stadium car parks for around 20 minutes. There can also be delays of around 45minutes to exit the stadium complex due to the heavy flow of traffic.In our aim to reduce traffic congestion, we promote fans to use public transport. Away supporters coachparking is free of charge and situated within 50 yards of the stadium. However, on occasions when thenumber of coaches exceeds ten, parking will be no more than a 5 minute walk to the stadium.Shuttle buses to Reading station leave from Northern Way.
