WATER RESCUEIn most cases, the safest and most efficient method of effecting a swiftwater rescue is from shore. Timeis critical, but so is protecting the rescuer. Practice shore-based techniques, such as using the ReachSystem, for maximum safety and efficiency. If a rescuer absolutely must enter the water, a seat harnessshould not be used as the only tie-in point. Using a waist attachment only can allow the force of thecurrent to bend the upper body backward into the water, making it impossible to right oneself andpossibly resulting in drowning.PMI offers innovative equipment for water rescue. From Crossline Solutions, the WRSI Current Helmet, and new to the line Force6 PFD’s on pg. 90 - 91.ADAPTEvery application is as unique as our gear. Throughout the catalog there are individual pieces that canbe put together to create your own customized kit. With a well rounded complement of personal gearand technical equipment a trained rope technician can accomplish almost anything.
