Kicking <strong>AIDS</strong> Out! promotes the use of sport as a tool <strong>for</strong> development. Sport <strong>and</strong> physical<br />

activities are used to build awareness about <strong>HIV</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>AIDS</strong> through educational games <strong>and</strong> activities<br />

which encourage peers to discuss issues that affect their lives <strong>and</strong> their communities. Programmes<br />

implemented by member organizations integrate sport skills <strong>and</strong> life skills through movement<br />

games, role plays, drama <strong>and</strong> other cultural <strong>and</strong> recreational activities. Central to success <strong>and</strong><br />

sustainability is capacity building. Kicking <strong>AIDS</strong> Out develops programmes to train coaches, trainers<br />

<strong>and</strong> leaders, building capacity at the individual, organizational <strong>and</strong> community level.<br />

Kicking <strong>AIDS</strong> Out: Through Movements Games <strong>and</strong> Sports Activities<br />

The book presents various ways on how to integrate <strong>HIV</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>AIDS</strong> education <strong>and</strong> work into your<br />

sport activities, in your physical education lessons <strong>and</strong> in your sports club. Several suggestions are<br />

given on where to include other fun <strong>and</strong> educational activities such as role-playing, child-to-child<br />

activities open discussions etc. It covers basic in<strong>for</strong>mation about several aspects of <strong>HIV</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>AIDS</strong>.<br />

Particular attention is given to necessary life skills with regard to <strong>HIV</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>AIDS</strong> <strong>prevention</strong>.<br />
