Assuch he has particular responsibilities for overseeing the implementation <strong>of</strong> those parts <strong>of</strong> the healthstrategy relating to older people. He was recently a member <strong>of</strong> the Irish <strong>of</strong>ficial delegation at theUnited Nations World Assembly on Ageing in Madrid._f-------------------------Dr. Chris Dunstan has been a General Practitioner since 1978. He is a member <strong>of</strong> the Department <strong>of</strong><strong>Health</strong> <strong>Older</strong> <strong>People's</strong> Task Force in the UK <strong>and</strong> Co-Chair <strong>of</strong> the National <strong>Assessment</strong> Working Group.He is also Chair <strong>of</strong> the West Surrey Electronic Record Development Project, part <strong>of</strong> the nationalelectronic record development work, which has a health <strong>and</strong> social care record for older people asone focus <strong>of</strong> its work. He is a former member <strong>of</strong> the External Reference Group <strong>of</strong> the NSF for <strong>Older</strong>People. Dr Dunstan has worked on local strategies for mental health services for older people. Hewas a member <strong>of</strong> the project group which developed the whole system audit methodology to alloweffective audit <strong>of</strong> his local health <strong>and</strong> social care system, <strong>and</strong> its refinement for roll out to otherhealth/social care systems.-------------------------------Antoinette Doocey MBA, BA <strong>Health</strong> Services Management, HDip, PHN, RM, RGN, has a nursingbackground <strong>and</strong> has acquired a wide range <strong>of</strong> experience in a number <strong>of</strong> clinical <strong>and</strong> service settings,including acute, continuing care, hospice <strong>and</strong> community.She was a member <strong>of</strong> the Commission on Nursing <strong>and</strong> is currently a member <strong>of</strong> both the NationalCouncil for the Pr<strong>of</strong>essional Development <strong>of</strong> Nursing <strong>and</strong> MidWifery <strong>and</strong> <strong>of</strong> An Bord Altranais. She hasworked as a senior executive <strong>of</strong>ficer in the community services programme <strong>of</strong> the North Eastern<strong>Health</strong> Board. Antoinette has held the post <strong>of</strong> Director <strong>of</strong> Governance, Planning <strong>and</strong> Evaluation ­Service for <strong>Older</strong> People in the NEHB for the last two years, during which she led <strong>and</strong> managed thedevelopment <strong>of</strong> a five-year strategy <strong>of</strong> services for older people, '<strong>Health</strong>y Ageing - A Secure Future'.She has recently been seconded to the Department <strong>of</strong> <strong>Health</strong> <strong>and</strong> Children as a member <strong>of</strong> thePrimary <strong>Care</strong> Task Force with the remit <strong>of</strong> implementing the new primary care strategy, 'Primary <strong>Care</strong>- A New Direction'.<strong>Assessment</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Older</strong> <strong>People's</strong> <strong>Health</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Social</strong> <strong>Care</strong> <strong>Needs</strong> <strong>and</strong> Preferences
