MULLERIA.— This genus, contemplated byCuvier, for the reception <strong>of</strong> the Holothuriajusus <strong>of</strong> Zool.Dan. x. f. 5, 6, and H. papillosa,ib. cviii. f. 5, I havepresumed to inscribe to the memory<strong>of</strong> one <strong>of</strong> the mostacute, industrious, and successful investigators <strong>of</strong> the tribeto which it belongs.16. M. digitata.— Tentacula twelve, ending in four obtusebranches.Hoi. dig. Mont. Linn. Trans, xi. p. 22, tab. iv. f. 6—Coast <strong>of</strong> Devon." Body long, cylindrical, covered with minute papillae, <strong>of</strong> a yellowishwhitecolour, marked with small spots <strong>of</strong> red -orange closely disposed, and inmany parts confluent." The body contracts by numerous strictures. Thediscoverer <strong>of</strong> this species was inclined to refer it to the H. inhaerens <strong>of</strong> theZool. Dan. tab. xxxi. 1-7, to which, in general appearance, it bears considerableresemblance ;but he could not detect the longitudinal avenues <strong>of</strong> pa«pillae, which are very distinct in Muller's species.
