Anthology of WoundsFATHER GIACOMO GARDINI S.J.A devoted missionary, even though 87-years-old hecame in Albania to continue the interrupted work by thecommunist dictatorship.Padre Giacomo Gardini was born in Pordenone of Italyin 1905. Later her became part of the Jesuit society, wherehe studied to be a cleric. In 1930 he came in Albania andteach for some years. In 1936 became a Priest and hecontinued to serve in the Albanian catholic church.He was arrested and imprisoned in summer of 1945.He was sentenced to a prison term of eight years and twoyears interment. Then he was liberated and was allowedto return to Italy. His body was far away, but his soul wasalways in Albania, although he suffered a lot. In 1986was published in Italy the book “10 years of prison inAlbania.” After the restart of the church activities in Albania,Padre Giacomo Gardini turned back to serve againin the Albanian churches.
