Penal Code foresaw death condemneven if no action was undertaken or no consequencesderived from it. Death penalty was foreseen also underthe constitution article “Agitation and propaganda”,escape, sabotage in art and culture, etc. Discriminationof citizens belonging to the rich class, families with anintellectual and political background; officers of Monarchywas extensively used in the first years of the dictatorship.Why communism in Albania was particularThe communist totalitarianism in Albania presentssome particularities compared to the other communistcountries of the Eastern Europe:1. It was established through a war with elements ofthe civil war (like in Yugoslavia).2. It was one of the cruellest and longest of theStalinist kind. The executions, torture and maltreatments,massive political imprisons, internal exiles offamiliars continued until end of ’80-ies.3.
