The firm isresponsible for the Greenville County Main Library, itsCounty Museum of Art, and the Peace Center for thePerforming Arts. Elsewhere around the state, CGD'sprojects include the Brookgreen Gardens VisitorsCenter (Pawley's lsland) and theWorship Centerfor the First Baptist Church (North Augusta). CGDdesigned one of the nation's first Ray and Joan KrocCorps Community Centers for the Salvation Army. Edattended Clemson University, earning BA and Marchdegrees. He joined the Wells Law Group Architectsafter graduation, followed by Hughes and BeattieArchitects prior to joining CGD in 1983. He was electedtreasurer of the Greenville section (1991), followed byterms as its secretary (1992), vice president (1993), andpresident (1994). Ed was also elected to office at thestate component level, as a member of its board (1993-1995), vice president (2001), and president (2OO2).He was a member of the state's long range planningcommittee (2003-2005) and the Past Presidents'Society (2007), Regionally in2OO1-2OO2 Ed was onthe state's national convention committee for theCharlotte, N.C., event. Ed is married to Susan M. Zeigler,who serves as Financial Manager at Craig GauldenDavis. They have two children, Claire Gray Zeigler is a2007 graduate of Savannah College of Art and Designand is working in Charlotte as an interior designer withLS3P Associates, LTD. Sincegraduating from North Carolina State University in1980 with a Bachelor of Environmental Design inArchitecture, Jim has spent his entire career in the fieldas a Construction Administrator. In the past 30 yearshis projects have varied in size and scope, as have thecontractors and owners. He credits his mentor, thelate William J. Boney, AIA with teaching him how tobe a professional and instilling in him the importanceof honesty. Jim has long been involved in memberservice. He was responsible for the origination of theNational Construction Administration KnowledgeCommunity as one of the focuses of practice at theNational level.
