Celebrationsbegan with the unveiling of a monument,a cow sponsored by Egon Zehnder International,as part of the Prague Cow Parade,designed and painted by Jiří Votruba.Afterwards guests enjoyed a buffetaround the fountain in the courtyard to thesound of original Swiss Alp horn music.A new pavilion for the CentralMilitary HospitalThe Metrostav joint-stock company hasformally handed over the reconstructedpavilion B III of the Central MilitaryHospital in Prague, which offers some ofthe most modern healthcare facilities in theCzech Republic.The four-storey building underwentalmost total reconstruction, with only theperipheral and some of the load-bearingwalls retained. It is serviced by a total ofseven lifts and seven staircases which alsogive access to the newly built floor, –2,which functions as an underground supplycorridor.The Hospital’s original inner courtyardhas been remodelled into a central entrancehall, which acts as the main communicationand information centre.In the reconstructed pavilion there arenow eight hospital departments: haematology,biochemical and blood transfusion;occupational diseases; central medical andpsychological; clinical oncology; nuclearmedicine; neurology, ophthalmologic clinicand ORL. There are a total of 98 beds, 12intensive care unit beds and seven operatingtheatres.DHL’s New Global IT ServiceCentre nears completionDHL’s new service centre in Prague is nearingcompletion, with management nowactively seeking the most important partof the operation – people.The company, the world’s largest logisticsprovider, has a state-of-the-art facilitywhich completes the company’s vision forthree global IT Services Centres aroundthe world (the others being in Cyberjaya,Malaysia and Scottsdale, USA).
